Q1: Will people know if my car is fitted with Connex?

Connex is designed to operate discreetly and completely inaudible and invisible in your vehicle. It also offers you a wealth of comfort features and peace of mind, while discreetly guarding your car. As far as possible, we recommend that you do not publicise that your vehicle has been fitted with Connex.

Q2: How does Connex protect my vehicle?

Connex allows you to stay connected and well informed on anything that occurs to your vehicle. Connex sends you an alert through the media of your choice in the event of any intrusion into your vehicle, so that you may act appropriately. In the event that there is sabotage to your vehicle (e.g. vehicle battery tamper), a sabotage alert will be sent to you and to our Control Room, who will then assume control of the vehicle and act accordingly as the situation demands. In the event of a car-jacking, please do not confront the car-jackers for your own safety. When your vehicle has been driven away, contact the Control Room and report the incident. The Connex team will then proceed to track and recover your stolen vehicle.

Q3: Will Connex help me recover my car if it is stolen?

Yes. As part of the service offered by Connex, we have our own Private Recovery teams stationed throughout Peninsular Malaysia. In the event of a theft, our private team will track and recover the vehicle in collaboration with the local authorities.

Q4: Is recovery of my vehicle chargeable?

No. The complete cost of recovery is covered under your Connex Annual Service Fee for an unlimited number of recoveries.

Q5: How long does it take to track and recover my car?

In the case of any sabotage by thieves on your vehicle, a Theft Alert is sent immediately to the Control Room and tracking will be initialised as soon as you have confirmed to the Control Room that your vehicle has been stolen. Recovery time of the vehicle varies depending on the location of the vehicle and other circumstance that may occur.

Q6: Can Connex guarantee that my vehicle will be recovered?

We will exercise all possible efforts to recover your vehicle in the event of a theft, however we cannot guarantee that the vehicle can be recovered, as there are other mitigating circumstances that can be beyond our control.

Q7: What is the Control Room phone number?

The Control Room is accessible through the Single Access Number: 1300-880-333 or +603 8995 0000. Please note that calls to the Control Room are only to report that your vehicle has been stolen and to initiate the tracking and recovery process.

Q8: What do I do in the event of a theft?

In the event you realise your vehicle has been stolen, you will need to do the following:

a.
Call the Single Access Number 1300-88-0333 or +603 8995 0000 and and choose the ‘report a theft’ option. This will link you to the Control Room.
b.
Inform the Control Room personnel your name and vehicle registration, and advise them that the vehicle has been stolen.
c.
Your identity will be verified by our Control Room personnel for security reasons.
d.

Once verified, the Control Room will begin to track the stolen vehicle. You will receive a Theft Management confirmation via SMS to notify you that your vehicle is under Theft Management.

e.
After reporting to the Control Room, make your way to the nearest police station and lodge a formal police report of the vehicle theft. It is important to obtain the official Police Report Number relating to the theft of your vehicle.
f.
Once you have the Police Report Number, call the Control Room again and provide them with this information.
g.
Upon successful recovery of the vehicle, the Control Room will contact you and advise you of the necessary procedures that should be taken to recover your vehicle.
