Q1: What is localisation?

 

The localisation function enables you to receive information regarding the location of your vehicle. This can be received as an SMS through the Interactive Vocal feature, or you can view the position of your vehicle on a map through the Interactive Web features.

How do I use this function?
 

The localisation function can be accessed through our Interactive Vocal/Web Service.

Through the phone: You are able to send a localisation request for the location of your car, and receive it through an SMS, or by fax.

Through the web: You are able to send a localisation request online, and view the location and status of your vehicle through the web application.

What do each of the alerts mean?
 

SECURITY ALERTS

Intrusion: Vehicle alarm triggered (If wired). This alert is NOT transmitted to the Control Room. If you verify that this is not a false alert, you should act accordingly, always bearing in mind your personal safety.

Ignition: Ignition is turned ON without Automatic Driver Recognition Card. There has been an illegal attempt to start your vehicle. This alert is NOT transmitted to the Control Room. If you verify that this is not a false alert, you should act accordingly. If your vehicle is in maintenance, please enable the Maintenance mode to avoid false alerts, and disable the feature once maintenance is completed.

ICD Sabotage: An attempt has been made to sabotage the Connex module by disabling your vehicle battery. It is possible that the vehicle is under theft. This alert is transmitted to the Control Room. If this is not a false alert and you are able to act accordingly, please do so always bearing in mind your personal safety. Concurrently, our Control Room and Recovery Team will work to secure your car if it is a theft situation. If your vehicle is in maintenance, please enable the Maintenance mode to avoid false alerts, and disable the feature once maintenance is completed.

GPS Sabotage: An attempt has been made to sabotage the GPS antenna. This alert is transmitted to the Control Room. If this is not a false alert and you are able to act accordingly, please do so always bearing in mind your personal safety. Concurrently, our Control Room and Recovery Team will work to secure your car if it is a theft situation. If your vehicle is in maintenance, please enable the Maintenance mode to avoid false alerts, and disable the feature once maintenance is completed.

Unauthorised Driving: Your vehicle has been driven without the Automatic Driver Recognition Card There is a possibility it has been towed or driven away This alert is transmitted to the Control Room. If this is not a false alert and you are able to act accordingly, please do so always bearing in mind your personal safety. Concurrently, our Control Room and Recovery Team will work to secure your car if it is a theft situation. If your vehicle is being transported, please enable the Transport feature to avoid false alerts, and disable the feature once it has arrived at the destination.

Unauthorised Movement With Ignition Off: Your vehicle has experienced unauthorised movement whilst the vehicle Ignition is off. There is a possibility it has been towed away. This alert is transmitted to the Control Room. If this is not a false alert and you are able to act accordingly, please do so always bearing in mind your personal safety. Concurrently, our Control Room and Recovery Team will work to secure your car if it is a theft situation. If your vehicle is being transported, please enable the Transport feature to avoid false alerts, and disable the feature once it has arrived at the destination.

Theft Management: A Theft management notification is sent to the subscriber's mobile phone to confirm that the vehicle is under theft. Your vehicle is now in Theft Management mode. The Control Room has taken full control of your vehicle for tracking and recovery purposes. You are no longer able to access the interactive vocal & web features for communication with your vehicle. You will be advised as to the status of the process. If this mode has been falsely activated, please contact the Control Room so that the vehicle may be returned to your control.


MAINTENANCE ALERTS

Vehicle Battery Level Low: Your vehicle battery level has dropped below an acceptable level. You are recommended to take the necessary corrective actions.

ICD Backup Battery Level Low: The battery of the Connex module has dropped below an acceptable level. You are recommended to bring the vehicle back to your authorised dealer for troubleshooting to ensure continued protection of your vehicle.

ADR Card Battery Low: The battery of the Connex ADR Card has dropped below an acceptable level. You are recommended to replace the battery to ensure continued communication between the ICD and the ADR Card.

ICD Operating Check: The Connex server will check on the vehicles Connex system periodically every 2 weeks and if any problem is found an alert will be sent to the customer.

Limitation Alerts Zone Entrance/Zone Exit: The vehicle has entered or exited the pre-defined zones that you have set for your vehicle via the interactive web feature .

Speed: The vehicle has exceeded the pre-defined speed limit that you have set via the interactive web features.

 
   
Q4:
How do I change my personal details?
 
Upon filling up the Service Activation Form, you will have provided a contact mobile, fixed and fax numbers, as well as an e-mail address. These will be used as the default alert contact details. If there is any change in these contact details you should contact the Customer Service Centre immediately so that your new details may be updated on the system.

What happens in the event that my vehicle is stolen while I am attending to my own matters?
 
In the event of a vehicle theft when you are not present, the Connex module in your vehicle would communicate any sabotage or unauthorised movement of the vehicle to the Connex Control Room. The Control Room would immediately contact you through your main 3 numbers registered to Connex to confirm if your vehicle is truly under theft. In case we could not reach you, we will assume control of the vehicle and begin tracking.
 
   
Q6: What happens in the event that my car is stolen through car jacking?
 
Your personal safety is of the utmost importance. Ensure that you are in a safe situation, and then call the Control Room to report the theft of your vehicle. Your identity will be verified for security reasons, after which the Control Room will begin the tracking and recovery procedure. You should also proceed to the nearest police station to lodge an official police report.
