THEFT REPORT : Kampung Baru, KL, Honda Civic

On 11th November at 8pm, a Honda Civic was hijacked in Kampung Baru, KL in front of the victim's shop. Three recovery teams were sent to locate the vehicle, which was still travelling on the road heading to Taman Maluri. After an hour, the vehicle was found at an apartment in Desa Pandan and Recovery Teams discovered that the car registration number had been changed. An ambush was laid to apprehend the culprits and the vehicle was successfully recovered when the suspect failed to start the vehicle due to an engine lock command sent by Control Room.
 
 
   
THEFT REPORT : Sri Petaling, KL, Toyota Camry

At 8.45am 3 men hijacked a Toyota Camry at the victim's house in Sri Petaling KL. The owner immediately contacted the Control Room and the recovery teams were notified and dispatched to the location. The vehicle was successfully recovered at Kampung Salak South and sent to Brickfields Police Station undamaged.

Connex helps raid car theft syndicate

At 10am on 14th October there was a call from the vehicle owner to the Control Room to report a vehicle theft on his Kia Spectra. The Recovery Team was dispatched by the Control Room and together with the police authorities managed to track down the car to a workshop at Kampung Baru Subang within an hour. Upon reaching the workshop in Kampung Baru Subang, police found that the vehicle was in the midst of being taken apart and all that was left was its bare chassis.

It was thought that more than 100 cars that had been stolen in the state, worth around RM2M, were cannibalised for parts in this workshop. There were 12 suspects arrested.

THEFT REPORT : Pasir Gudang, Johor, Toyota Camry

On the afternoon of 9th September, a Toyota Camry was hijacked at a factory in Pasir Gudang. The Control Room immediately dispatched the recovery teams and Rakan Cop Johor was contacted to trail the vehicle. It had been located in Taman Muhibah Senai, on the North South Highway heading Northwards. At 4.10 pm, the hijacker parked the Toyota Camry in a Palm Plantation at Chaah Bahru. The police and recovery teams conducted a stakeout until early the following day. At 8.20am, police and recovery teams started to track the vehicle which was seen to be moving towards Chaah Town. After one hour of the recovery process, the vehicle was successfully recovered at Chaah Bahru Chinese cemetery and 1 suspect was arrested for police interrogation.
 
 
   
THEFT REPORT : Senai, Johor, Toyota Camry
11th May 2008
 
On 11th May at 11pm, a customer reported his Toyota Camry stolen in Senai, Johor. The recovery team and police were notified and dispatched to Kulai. The vehicle was located and recovered within an hour at Jalan Baiduri, Taman Kulai after the engine lock command was sent to the vehicle by the Control Room.
 
 
   
THEFT REPORT : Sepang, Toyota Camry

At 8.30am in the morning, a Toyota Camry was stolen from a parking lot and made its way to Jalan Cyber Suria (Dengkil), Sepang Selangor. The recovery team and police were contacted and reached the location within half an hour. They found the victim's vehicle located in a housing area and took the car to Kelana Jaya Police station. It was believed that the hijacker was suspicious of being trailed and abandoned the vehicle at the housing area.
 
 
   
THEFT REPORT : Selayang, Toyota Hilux

Cobra Connex received a theft alert from a subscriber’s Toyota Hilux on the 14th of January in Selayang. When contacted, the customer confirmed that there were at least three individuals attempting to break into his car at about 4am in front of his home.

As the thieves drove away with the car, our recovery team and the police were notified and dispatched to the location of the car. The tracking and recovery process took approximately an hour as the car was driven northbound towards Rawang and where it was subsequently abandoned. The Hilux was secured and returned to the customer with the assistance of the police authorities.

When interviewed by Bernama, the owner positively commented on Cobra Connex's effectiveness in tracking and recovering his car. It was the second time that the customer has had his car stolen. Having recovered his car immediately, he was relieved that he did not have to go through all the inconvenience of not having a car to use, saving him the time required to deal with his insurance company for claims and loss of No Claims Discounts for insuring a new car.
 
 
   
THEFT REPORT : PJ, Toyota Hilux

This incident happened in Kelana Jaya where 4 men hijacked a Toyota Hilux while the victim was on his way to college in the morning. The owner immediately contacted the Control Room and 3 recovery teams were sent to the location together with the police. After an hour, the recovery team and police arrived at Gombak. Within 4 hours of the tracking and recovery process, the Hilux had been successfully recovered without damage and the 4 suspects had been arrested.
 
 
   
THEFT REPORT : Rawang, Toyota Hilux
12th Dec 2007
 
This particular incident happened in Rawang where car-jackers assaulted and overpowered the owner’s driver, relieving him of the car keys. The owner immediately contacted our control room and two response teams were sent to locate the Toyota Hilux, which was still travelling on the road. The vehicle was sighted within 30 minutes and was trailed all the way to Mantin (near Seremban). Communicating with the police force in Mantin, an ambush was laid to apprehend the culprits. The 50-minute theft sequence led to the arrest of at least 3 individuals and successful recovery of the Hilux without any damages.
 
 
   
THEFT REPORT : Klang, Toyota Fortuner

On the 12th of November, a brand new Toyota Fortuner was the target for a group of car thieves in Klang at about 9:30pm. The owner called our control room and informed the operator that her husband has been assaulted and his car keys were stolen. The control room immediately activated a manual theft report procedure and began tracking the vehicle. Relaying the position of the vehicle to the ground recovery team, the vehicle was located and secured within an hour in Sunway Mentari. The local police subsequently released the car to the owner.
 
 
   
THEFT REPORT : Penang, Toyota Hilux
6th Nov 2007
 

Reported in from Penang where a Toyota Hilux was broken into and stolen from an apartment building at approximately 3 o'clock in the morning, on the 6th of November. Fortunately, the vehicle was installed with a Connex ICD13, which sent a Module Sabotage alert to our control room and vehicle owner. Upon receiving the alert from the owner, the control room dispatched two teams of recovery personnel to the location of the vehicle as shown in the system's digital map. With the assistance from the police force, the recovery of the vehicle was successful and several individuals were detained for police interrogation.
