COBRA PROTECTS DESIRED
MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION X

Cobra, one of the major international operators in the field of security solutions for the automotive market, today announced that its Thatcham Category 5 stolen vehicle recovery system has been selected by The Colt Car Company, the sole UK distributor for Mitsubishi cars, to
be installed as standard equipment on all the much desired and admired Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X models.

Branded for Mitsubishi as Elite Trak 5, the system has been successfully tested and listed under the new Thatcham Category 5, the highest accreditation for tracking devices, and includes features such as remote inhibition, automatic driver recognition (ADR) and automatic detection of theft when stolen with car keys.

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK’s Sales & Marketing Director, Lance Bradley, said “We believe the CobraTrak 5 tracking system is the best on the market. To have it installed on all Lancer Evolution X models not only adds extra value to the car, but acts as a key theft deterrent whilst giving the owner peace of mind.” Dean Beha, General Manager for Vestatec UK, the UK distributor of Cobra Electronic Systems, said; “Through extensive development and research Cobra is proud to be the market leader. More manufacturers than ever are realising that there are very few suppliers who can provide a totally integrated solution that includes hardware, service and insurance approval at a consistent level across many European markets.” With over 2,700 vehicles stolen every day throughout Europe and more than half never recovered, it will be the first time that a mid-priced performance car has offered such a sophisticated security solution as standard.

The leading marques Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati, Nissan, Porsche and Renault trust Cobra in deploying the full stolen vehicle tracking service at pan-European level with integrated OE stolen vehicle recovery coverage in 36 countries and Russia.
