Audi and Lamborghini choose
Cobra’s SVR
services at European level
Varese, 11 April 2008 - Cobra Automotive Technologies, a leader in the field of security solutions for the automotive
segment offering Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR) System, announced that Audi AG and Automobili Lamborghini
S.p.A. have selected the Cobra Group as their pan-European operator of SVR services and their supplier of tracking
systems based on GSM and GPS technologies.
Audi and Lamborghini selected Cobra following a comprehensive analysis of the market demand and the availability
of solutions in the various countries. The positive results from the first pan-European programme launched at the
beginning of 2006 with Porsche led Audi and Lamborghini to appoint Cobra, in agreement with Porsche, and to use
the same technology components that have proven highly reliable over the last two years and serve 15,000 Porsche
subscribers, and a growing share of the total of 140,000 subscribers using Cobra Stolen Vehicle Recovery System.
“Audi and Lamborghini’s choice, following Porsche, Nissan and Renault, confirm Cobra’s unique capacity of
integrating a state-of-the-art telematics architecture with onboard electronics that comply with the highest automotive
standards” – underlines Carmine Carella, Cobra’s CEO.
“The Agreement with Audi and Lamborghini represents a milestone in line with the company’s commitment to
provide security services to the premium segment, thanks also to our direct presence in key countries such as Italy,
France and the UK” - explains Massimiliano Kisvarday, Sales Director at Cobra.
Cobra’s management foresees the beginning of commercial activities during the summer of 2008 and the completion
of the activities during 2009. The agreement is estimated to represent a 4-5 million euros turnover in 2009 and 8-9
million euros in 2010.
